The AdiPower has been a winner for many years and continues to sell because of the high performance. I was blown away at the lockdown and stability these shoes offer. Seriously, it’s like being glued to the ground. The downsides are the long break in period and not roomy enough for wide feet people (if that’s you, go with the Adidas Powerlift 4 instead).
What is the Adidas AdiPower Weightlifting Shoe?
It’s specifically designed for weightlifting. They increase depth for squats by decreasing range of motion.
Adidas says they offer legendary support, and can handle heavy loads with ease.
It includes a lace closure with a regular strap along the top.
Although most lifters say it doesn’t really do much and should’ve been used in the middle or at the bottom.
Or they should’ve just used the 3 straps they use on similar shoes.
The upper includes a mixture of textile fabric and leather.
The PU coated leather provides durability, while mesh fabric surrounds the heel and tongue, promoting ventilation and cool feet.
Although it’s not as ventilated as some lifting shoes, it’s still better than some with a full leather upper.
Heel overlays create lightweight stability.

Well all weightlifting shoes are actually, but some have multiple uses. The Adidas AdiPower seems to be one of those shoes.
In order to go ass to grass you need a to hit more depth that you’ve never hit before.
That’s just facts.
Whether you’re a beginner or expert, an increased heel WILL supply you with that extra depth.
Athletes say they make them more stable when doing squats, and their feet are rock solid while they plant to the ground.
Tall lifters say they have trouble hitting depth on their squats, but after wearing these shoes they were able to go lower and get that extra muscular tension.
Summary: They’re good for deadlifts as they keep you glued to the ground. Although tall people may not enjoy it because of the extra range of motion.

Customers say they take about a week to break in, sometimes longer if you only wear them 3x a week.
Someone said they’ve worn theirs about 10x and they still haven’t broken in.

Garage Gym Reviews bought the AdiPower and Romaleos 2 but sold the Romaleo and used the AdiPower instead as he has thin feet. He also says both are excellent shoes.
Bar Bend says they’re a few years old but still widely used by well known athletes. The AdiPower were one of Adidas’ successful weightlifting shoes, and the reason people still buy them many years later. They also go on to say that the price is on the expensive side.

Are They Worth It?
Maximum security is the 2 best words I can use to describe these shoes.
They’re bound to keep you stapled to the ground while performing heavy compound lifts.
And in my opinion you can’t put a price on injury prevention.
The gym is fun and all, but safety is #1 priority.
Yes they’re expensive but they are high quality too.
They’re tough and durable.
They’ll last for years.
They ensure stability and form-correction.
So are they worth it?
Heck yeah they are.
The quality construction makes up for the steep price tag.
Do I Recommend The AdiPower?
I’ve done the research, I’ve stayed unbiased this whole time, I’ve found everything there is to love and hate.
There really isn’t much to dislike about this weightlifting shoe.
They do exactly what they’re designed to do, and they still sell like hotcakes even in 2020.
It does take a while to break in, and they do not fit wide feet people, but everything else about them is pure gold.
Definitely a great product to have in your arsenal of weightlifting shoes.
