At a Glance

Product Name: Adidas Lite Racer RBN

Designed for: Running, daily activities

True to size: Yes

Expected lifespan: 6 – 12 months

Price: $60 – $80

My Rating: 4.4/5

The Lite Racer RBN are perfect for everyday activities as well as daily running. They’ve got the durability to last about a year and can stay comfortable all day long. The price is right and everyone loves them. There are some flaws but they definitely aren’t a deal breaker.

What is the Adidas Lite Racer RBN?

They are specifically designed for running and have received lots of positive feedback from fellow shoe lovers.

It features a lightweight textile upper and sock-like construction that hugs the foot, which is called the OrthoLite Float sockliner.

The midsole and outsole are designed to keep you comfortable all day long.

Actually that’s interesting to see.

It’s not everyday that a shoe has Cloudfoam in the midsole and outsole.

Unfortunately that’s all the information I could find regarding the features.

But I like what I see so far.

It’s time to find out how things really perform.

Are they Good for Running?

Yes they are definitely good for running as they’re specially made for it.

When you take into consideration Adidas’ track record of building quality running shoes, it’s a no-brainer.

Some testers say that they are good for short distance and long distance while staying durable.

They are lightweight to make running easier and offer freedom for movement.

They’re absolutely loved by runners as they bought more than one pair.

Others say they are perfect for running on a budget.

This is all good signs to see as some running shoes completely tank.

If you decide to buy these for running, I have no doubts they will perform and offer all the comfort, air flow and support you need.

They Make Amazing Casual Sneakers Too

Something else worth nothing is that they perform as casual sneakers.

Adidas took the time to make them wearable for casual wear instead of just running.

The colorways are more neutral and don’t “pop” out like other running sneaks.

A good way to describe them is not too flashy but not too stodgy.

One tester walks 10,000 steps a day and their feet are painless at the end of the day, thanks to the Cloudfoam technology in the midsole and outsole.

This means they are perfect for running errands, a high-activity job, or someone on their feet all day.

It’s not everyday I come across a sneaker that performs for all daily activities, so this is definitely worth noting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are they comfortable?

Yes! Everyone that wears them loves how comfortable they are and describe them as walking on clouds.

The plush midsole and OrthoLite sockliner are to thank for that.

Are they waterproof?

No, the Adidas Lite Racer RBN are not waterproof.

In fact because they are running shoes they are made with lots of ventilation, designed to keep your feet cool as you go about your day and prevent hot feet.

They are susceptible to the rain if it’s heavy enough and may get your feet wet.

How long do they last?

These are average running shoes with an average price.

They cost $84 on Adidas’ website and about $60 bucks on Amazon.

For the price and what you get out of ’em, they are actually really good.

The price is affordable but comes at a cost – decreased durability.

The expected lifespan is about 6 – 12 months and varies with usage.

Do they fit wide feet?

Unfortunately these shoes are geared towards narrow and neutral feet.

Wide feet people will not fit these comfortably, even if they go 1/2 a size up.

Although I have a wide foot alternative here <== definitely worth checking out

Do they have arch support?

Yes!

Thanks to the Cloudfoam comfort, these shoes have lots of padding and support for those with low arch, neutral arch and high arch.

Are they true to size?

Yes, they are true to size.

Amazon has an 82% fit rate and Adidas are near-perfect in the size and width ratings.

What Testers Say

Snug fit without restricting movement

These shoes are comfortable as hell and certainly better than other shoes I have reviewed in this price range.

They fit like a glove but without restricting movement, making them good for running and casual use.

Stylish

Everyone loves how cool these look and make you feel when wearing them.

They don’t pop too much and they actually look really nice.

My favorite part is the outsole that has speckles of color in them!

Versatile

Adidas say these are running shoes as well as casual sneakers that you can wear all day and stay comfortable.

Well these claims are 100% true as reviewers enjoy the benefits they offer during the day and go home without tired or painful feet.

Lightweight

Something else worth noting is the lightweight.

They weigh a tiny 250 grams which equals 0.55 pounds – not even 1 whole pound!

They don’t even feel like they’re on your feet and you’ll probably forget they are there most of the time.

Which is a good thing as it’s proven – the lighter the shoe, the faster you run.

The perfect basic shoe

In all honesty, that really is the best way to describe them.

They are basic running shoes that’s highly affordable, with some flaws.

Even the most expensive shoes on the market has flaws, so I wouldn’t rule these out just yet!

The Bad Points

A little tight at first

Some testers say that they are a little tight at first and may need to wear a few times before fully breaking in.

I don’t think this is a huge deal as many shoes require this anyway.

Thin elastic loops break easily

Unfortunately there is a common complaint about the elastic loops being low quality and prone to breakage.

I highly recommend always untying the shoe and being careful when putting on and off to avoid this happening.

This doesn’t happen with everyone but it did pop up a few times as I was reviewing this shoe.

Low quality complaints

There are also some complaints about the shoe ripping or tearing within a couple of months.

This is not a huge problem considering it’s only a handful of people, when everyone else loves their purchase and says they last a lot longer than a few months.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Offers all day comfort
  • Plenty of ventilation
  • Good for all daily activities
  • Good value for money
  • Stylish, goes with most things
  • Good support

Cons

  • Not as high quality as some people hoped
  • Weak elastic loops that may break if not careful
  • May require a break-in period for a couple of days

Should You Buy?

Now that we have all the good things and bad things out of the way, it’s easier for my to come up with my own conclusion.

Honestly, there’s a lot of love for this shoe from the community and it doesn’t look like it’ll be slowing down anytime soon.

There are some flaws, yes, but nothing is perfect.

For this price I’m surprised there’s not more flaws.

The Adidas Lite Racer RBN is actually very affordable for what they offer.

They are perfect for running (as Adidas claimed) and provide all day comfort for things you do on a daily basis.

They have weak straps and may require a couple days to break in, no big deal.

For this price, they are really good running/casual shoes with a few minor flaws.

Should you buy?

I would have to say yes.

Unless you require something that’ll last more than a year, you may want to check out this running shoe instead.

But other than that, the Adidas Lite Racer RBN gets the thumbs up.

Good Value for Money

At the end of the day they are good value for money. Not great but not bad either.

They are the perfect, basic running sneaker, with some ups and downs.

Although the ups outweigh the downs, and that’s why I still recommend them, especially if you don’t want to pay an arm and a leg for something of better quality.

Buy with no expectations and you won’t be let down.

And that’s the Adidas Lite Racer RBN shoes in a nutshell.
