Those trendy fashion people don’t wear socks and they look pretty cool, right?
Is there any serious downsides to this or can it be done without repercussions?
There are lots of questions that needed to be answered, and that’s why in this article I will be explaining the good, the bad and the ugly.
And smelly feet, because that’s another huge downside.
Can You Wear Shoes Without Socks?
The simple answer is yes, it can definitely be done.
But should you do it? Probably not.
There are lots of reasons why you shouldn’t, and less reasons for it.
I’ll explain below.
Why I Do NOT Recommend Shoes Without Socks
Even though wearing socks without shoes looks very cool and trendy, and makes super awesome Instagram photos, it will come back and bite you in the butt if you’re not expecting it.
Wearing shoes without socks for one day is NOT going to be super bad and cause serious health issues, but it definitely will make your feet and shoes smelly.
Our feet sweat at least half a point per day. That is a lot of sweat for your shoes to absorb, which is going to cause all sorts of smelly issues.
That amplifies by a lot when the shoes aren’t breathable. Heat, moisture and bacteria are all trapped in one place.
Basically, you’re creating a breeding ground for fungal infections and blisters due to the friction and rubbing that occurs.
But what if you reeaaaally want to go sockless?
Are smelly feet inevitable and is fungus feet something you should expect to be apart of your life now?
Unfortunately wearing shoes without socks regularly is not a good idea and you will run into health issues.
But on the other hand, there is an alternative to get the same fashion appearance without risking your health.
Of course this does take away the comfort factor of wearing a pair of shoes without socks, but no-show socks offer the same trendy appearance without the health concerns.
My favorite no-show socks are from Closemate (Click here for Closemate no-show socks)
