Are crocs good for high arched feet? Or is this doing more harm than good?
Some people wear crocs like their life depends on it, and although they are comfortable as hell and lightweight, they might not be the best option for you.
And that also includes if you have high arched feet.
In this article I’m going to explain why, so keep reading for the truth.
Yes, Crocs are Good For High Arches
I’m just going to get straight to the point here.
Yes, crocs are good for high arched feet but they lack in other areas.
One of the biggest is the lack of heel support. The toes tend to grip more and can cause all sorts of injuries like tendinitis, toe deformities, etc.
So to answer this question:
Yes, crocs offer good arch support and make a great choice for those with high arched feet, as long as the crocs aren’t worn for extended periods of time.
If they are worn for a few hours a day doing small activities, that is completely fine and recommended.
But I do NOT recommended for all day use.
There’s just not enough heel support and it’s going to cause even more problems down the line.
The Good Points About Crocs
Since I went and pointed out the bad things about crocs right from the word go, let me explain the good things so you know I’m not biased on the matter.
- Built-in arch support
- Toes are protected
- They’re made out of antimicrobial material
Crocs are Better Than Flip Flops
I’m telling you all these good points because it has everything that’s lacking in flip flops.
And that’s why you should wear crocs instead of flip flops, which is not only recommended by me, but even foot doctors!
Flip flops are flat, so there’s no toe protection, opening up the possibility for toes to get squashed or dropped on by something.
There is also no support whatsoever.
There’s no strap and no heel support, causing your toes to grip the flip flop and cause injuries that pop up down the line.
I highly recommend throwing out your flip flops and opting for a pair of crocs instead.
Of course they should not be worn all day but can definitely help you out when running errands, running to the store, going to the beach, to the pool or just doing yard work.
They are a great alternative to flip flops and that’s why you shouldn’t rule out crocs completely just because they lack in heel support.
It just means you can only wear them a few hours a day.
All in All
All in all, crocs are a great alternative to flip flops and can be worn anytime you usually wear flip flops.
They are amazing for people with high arches because it helps with comfort, they are easy to put on and extremely lightweight with ample slip-resistance.
Just keep in mind that they need to be worn in short spurts and not long periods of time.
Do that and you can reap the benefits of crocs without worrying about long-term injuries.
Thanks for reading this article and I hope you have a great day!
