Welcome to my Champion 93 Eighteen review.
I’m a big fan of Champion and I bet some of you are as well.
They have proven to release some downright beautiful shoes, clothing and equipment.
I just saw the 93 Eighteen on Amazon and I like what I see so far.
It has the design, the features and aesthetics, but as we know by now, looks can be deceiving.
What makes this shoe so great?
Does it perform, or even last a long time?
Find out in this review.
Not too Shabby
Bottom Line:
There is virtually nothing wrong with the Champion 93 Eighteen other than the lack of versatility.
It should only be used as a lifestyle/casual sneaker or weightlifting, because everything is pretty much mute (not good for).
However, it has a great price, a good amount of features, it’s comfortable and does a great job at what it’s designed to do, which is to offer retro vibes!
Highly recommended at this price.
Introduction
Product name: Champion 93 Eighteen
Type of Shoe: Retro
Best for: Lifestyle/casual, weightlifting
Bad for: Sports, training, running, walking
Price: $30 – $120
What is the Nike Free Rn 2018?
This shoe is designed to offer athletic vibes while staying true to classic streetwear.
The upper is made of leather and suede material, which offers durability for long-lasting wear.
The Champion logo sits on the sides and heel, on the tongue and even on the rubber outsole for traction.
Also it features a padded tongue and collar for immense stability…good for weightlifting or someone on the heavier side.
The comfortable sock liner breaths, the stationary insole is very comfortable, and the visual appearance adds retro vibes to any outfit.
You can really look amazing with the right combination.
That’s really all I could find about the features, so lets find out how it fits and whether or not it performs.
Size and Fit Details
Everyone claims that they are true to size, and after going through all the reviews, I have to agree with them.
Everyone says how well they fit and how true to size they are.
I could not find much information about whether they are good for wide feet or not, but one reviewer claimed they were too narrow for his wide feet.
So if that sounds like you, I recommend going 1/2 size up to avoid too-tight shoes.
Other than that, these are well known for being true to size and go from sizes 7.5 up to 13.
How Well Do They Perform?
So what is this shoe actually good for, what is it best for and what should it NOT be used for?
Well let me explain:
Weightlifting
Anything with good stabilization is good for weightlifting and that’s where the Champion 93 Eighteen performs the best.
They have solid cushioning to hold all the weight, a padded tongue and collar for extra stability, and long-lasting leather construction.
People use them for the gym and they perform.
Lifestyle sneaker
A lifestyle sneaker is basically a fashion shoe, mixing and matching with different outfits to stand out from the crowd.
All it means is being stylish, and the Champion 93 Eighteen offers just that.
It brings everyone around you into your retro vibe.
Lifestyle also means it can be used for pretty much any daily activity:
Working a job, going out to lunch, visiting friends and family, shopping, going on dates, etc.
When NOT wear these shoes (and why)
Running – Too heavy, bulky and not enough ventilation to prevent hot feet
Fitness walking – Casual walking and all-day use is completely fine, but fitness walking where you walk for hours at a time? Definitely not. It is simply too heavy and doesn’t have enough flexibility
Training – They may have some of the main features for cross training but they are also lacking a lot of other things
Sports (basketball, tennis, volleyball, etc) – Again, too heavy, too bulky, no ventilation
What I Like
I like the variety of colors and combinations that they offer.
This means you can find one you like for your outfit.
The style is what caught my eye in the first place.
Also I like the ankle stability thanks to the padded tongue and collar.
This makes the shoe MUCH more comfortable for people on the heavier side and opens up opportunities of weightlifting!
I’m 245 pounds and a weight lifter so these would be perfect for me.
Although I am not stylish by any means, but a good looking pair of shoes is a must-have.
Even if my t-shirt is $10 and pants are $20, a pair of good looking shoes usually makes me look like a million dollars 😛
The Bad
One of the biggest downsides is the lack of versatility.
They are mostly only good for casual/lifestyle use and weightlifting at the gym.
Other than that they are too heavy and don’t have enough ventilation to perform for other things.
Don’t get me wrong, they are very comfortable and have plenty of stability.
But the lack of options for wearing may be a big problem for someone looking for a versatile shoe.
There are a few complaints about it being too snug when first worn, however, that soon goes away after being broken in.
The Price & Where to Buy
The price of the Champion 93 Eighteen is about $30 – $120 depending on where you buy them.
Footlocker has them for about $70 but I find that Amazon is a little cheaper (where they sell for about $50).
They also offer a 30-day return policy.
So if you experience defects or anything you don’t like about the shoe, it can be returned for a full refund.

Pros and Cons
Pros
- Comfortable
- Good for wide feet if you go 1/2 size up
- Retro vibes
- Lots of colorways
- Cheap price tag
- High value for money
Cons
- A lack of versatility
- May feel snug when breaking in
Do I Recommend Them?
There are only two cons…
One was the lack of versatility and the other was the snug fit when first breaking in.
However, the only thing wrong with it will go away after a few uses anyway, once it starts breaking in.
The other problem is not a problem at all.
It’s not made to be versatile, it’s made to be a lifestyle shoe and offer retro vibes.
When you look at the cheap price tag and everything it offers, there is a lot more to gain than to lose.
This will have to be one of the cheapest retro shoes that I have seen so far, and it happens to be of high quality and perform for its intended purpose.
I have no problems with this sneaker and 100% recommend it.
Final Verdict
This shoe is not the most outstanding and definitely not going to last the longest.
However, it certainly is going to impress those around you due to the aesthetics and vintage appearance.
I like it a lot and it’s a big winner in my eyes since it has little-to-nothing wrong with it.
Use it for lifestyle and weightlifting and I have no doubt that you will love and enjoy everything it offers.
Well that concludes my Champion 93 Eighteen review.
