Lets look at the New Balance Arishi v3. It’s supposed to have all the latest features and technology out there, all implemented into one shoe.
Is this overkill?
Does it mean it’s heavy and bulky?
Is it a big flop?
Technology + lightweight doesn’t work in the real world, so what are we really looking at if they claim it’s lightweight and tech-packed?
So many questions and so little time.
Hopefully you find all the answers you’re looking for in my New Balance Arishi v3 review.

The New Balance Arishi v3 has delivered in all areas. They are correct when they say they’re comfortable, tech-packed, supportive, lightweight and have the perfect fit. They are truly snug-fitting and perform well for running. Just don’t use them in the rain or where puddles are present, because your feet WILL get wet.
These shoes made for running but the manufacturers claim they are supposed to give you versatility and style in the gym, the track or around the city.
This shoe oozes tech. They’ve got so many features that I will talk about in detail soon.
But if you want a shoe that’s specifically designed with all the latest technology, then you might want to keep reading.
New Balance wanted to create something with a 21st century look with, features, tech, versatility, and style all in one.
Thus we have the New Balance Arishi v3.
The New Balance Arishi v3 is a running shoe that has a lot of features.
The Fresh Foam midsole is precision-engineered to provide immense comfort and lightweight cushioning.
It has a Hypoknit upper which is strategically placed in areas that add stretch and support where needed the most.
The upper is made of synthetic and mesh material to provide ventilation, keeping you cool no matter how long your run is.
It includes a rubber outsole for high durability and traction.
They also offer a bootie construction and Ultra Heel design, which hug the foot nicely without being restrictive.
When companies make outrageous claims I like to debunk them or prove them right.
In this case I’m not sure how a shoe can be lightweight and feature-packed. It’s either well-balanced or one or the other.
Plus there are other claims I want to look into.
- Tech-focused features
- Perfect fit
- Durability (especially in the outsole)
- Highly comfortable
There’s a lot to cover so lets get into it and see whether these claims are true or exaggerated.
Are They Lightweight?
They weigh 9.2oz in mens and 8.2oz in women’s.
There’s not a lot of people talking about the weight factor, but people are saying they’re sooo lightweight.
And they don’t even feel like they’re on your feet.
Shoes that have a minimalist design can go down to about 4-5oz, and some shoes with many features go well over 1 pound.
So it seems they strike a nice balance between weight and features.
Yes they are lightweight and they get the green light.
Is This Shoe All About the Features?
They are tech-packed.
New Balance have really gone all out with the technology.
And to be honest it’s not bad thing, or overkill, as I first thought.
All the features have a specific purpose.
It’s not like they didn’t think out the process.
They’ve put in the time and effort to create a shoe that’s full of their best technology while staying lightweight.
Another green light from the team at Shoe Mastery. A one-man team might I add.
Are they the “Perfect Fit”?
Well first and foremost, they’ve got the stretchy Hyperknit upper, the bootie construction, Ultra Heel design, Fresh Foam midsole and Ortholite sockliner.
All these features alone make me believe they know what they are doing and they have the confidence to say they’ve made the perfect shoe.
But claims are nothing without social proof.
Here’s what the people say:
- My husband has such a hard time finding wide enough shoes that fit especially that are still comfortable
- Super comfy and they fit like a glove. Totally worth the price
- They are very comfortable and fit perfectly
- These shoes were an awesome find. My husband says the fit/ feel great!
- Needed new shoes for work. They fit great and they’re super comfortable
- The fit is slightly narrow which isn’t a problem since the uppers are so stretchy
Well, the proof is in the pudding.
No one is complaining about the size and everyone compliments how well they fit.
Are they durable?
One loyal customer has been buying these shoes for the last 2 years and apparently they stay comfortable longer than they last.
This means they stay comfortable for the total lifespan, which is a good thing.
But that also means the upper or outsole has the least durability.
New Balance says the rubber outsole offer “impressive durability”.
So that leads me to believe the upper is the first thing to go, which isn’t surprising at all.
It’s usually the comfort, outsole or upper.
In this case the mesh upper.
No one is talking about how long their shoes lasted so I can only give my professional opinion.
Due to my many months of reviewing New Balance shoes, and the fact that they’re on the affordable side, I can confidently say they will last 10 – 18 months.
Are they durable for this price?
Are They Comfortable?
Now this is a no-brainer.
I’ve done the research and found out that everyone finds them incredibly comfortable thanks to all the features and technology.
Just read the customers feedback I mentioned above and you will see how comfortable they are.
They fit like a glove and you forget they’re there half the time because it’s like walking on air.
Yes, they are extremely comfortable and if you buy these shoes, expect them to treat you well.
Do They Perform?
That’s the million dollar question.
Do they actually perform for running, in the gym, walking and other similar exercises?
Since that’s what New Balance claims.
And the good news is that the the feedback from the buyers are all positive.
They are especially good for running.
- Track running
- Road running
- Pavement running
- Short distance
- Long distance
Others also use them for casual wear around town, or standing all day for their job, and they perform incredibly well.

Pros and Cons
- Feature packed while staying lightweight

- Good durability
- Plenty of arch support

- Not cross-country shoes
Do I Recommend Them?
Hell yeah I do.
These shoes have everything.
They’ve got the tech, comfort, support, versatility, a lightweight design and even enough durability.
They are perfect for many different things and everyone loves how comfortable they are.
They are best used for running around the city or using the treadmill.
They should not be used for cross-country running or anywhere that puddles or mud are present.
That also means don’t take them out in the rain!
Those 2 cons are the biggest downsides, but that’s okay.
Because there are far more good things to look forward to with this shoe.
They have beat my expectations by a long shot and I highly recommend them.
Verdict: Blows the Competition Out of the Water
Seriously, these shoes are a beast and I have no problems with them.
I didn’t expect them to be so affordable, but it turns out they are around $60 on Amazon.
These shoes blow the competition out of the water and I will gladly stand by that statement until I am proven otherwise.
They “have it all” and they are affordable, allowing those on a small budget to reap the benefits as well.
I absolutely love these shoes and think they deserve more recognition.
But that’s just my 2 cents.
