Who has better basketball shoes. Is it Nike or Adidas? Both of these companies have great sneakers and they are the leading industry in athletic apparel and footwear.
But which of these two have the better basketball shoes?
There are so many variables and differences that we need to take into consideration before coming to our conclusion.
So lets put forward our findings and research before making a final decision.
Without further ado, lets get right into it.
Nike basketball shoes
Nike basketball shoes are arguably some of the best in the world, and certainly the most popular.
Just take Air Jordans for example.
They make over 3 billion a year, and that number continues to rise.
Nike have some of the best looking basketball shoes on the market and the quality is immaculate.
Nike take pride in everything they create and always pay attention-to-detail.
They also have shoes in all price ranges, allowing the average consumer to reap the benefits of their sneakers too.
Some go for $60 and others for hundreds.
They have been creating basketball shoes for years and cater to low-top, mid-top, and high-top players.
Something I really like about Nike is their responsive cushioning with the air heel unit.
This special technology offers some of the fastest responsive cushioning in the world, so that’s definitely a big plus for Nike.
Also they make Flyknit shoes which means the entire upper is knitted as one whole piece.
It is actually more durable than Adidas’ Primeknit due to the stronger fibers that reinforce weak areas.
- More options for wide feet people
- They have Flyknit, which is stronger and more durable than Primeknit
- Conform to your feet better
- They sponsor more athletes
- Both make lightweight shoes
- They have better aesthetics
- Air Jordans, need I say more
- They run 1/2 a size small
- May not be good for narrow feet
Adidas basketball shoes
Adidas basketball shoes are also amazing and customers love them.
They have been sponsoring athletes for years and partnering with celebrities like Kanye West to create Yeezys!
Adidas are also lenient on their prices. Some cost $50 and others cost hundreds.
Their target market is everyone because just like Nike, they want everyone to wear their shoes.
Hence why both are so popular and have loyal customers.
Adidas basketball shoes possess their own features which make them stand out.
However, a couple things I’ve found simply by reviewing their shoes is that they are a little on the narrow side, and that Primeknit isn’t as good as Flyknit.
This isn’t bad for anyone with normal or narrow feet, but definitely a problem for wide feet people.
Adidas basketball shoes also come in low-top, mid-top and high-top.
One thing they have going for them is their immaculate traction on the court.
As a basketball player you are always running, bouncing, dodging players, jumping and moving in quick bursts.
If you’re a fast-paced player and always changing directions then you may want to opt for Adidas for their great traction abilities.
- Generally better grip
- Affordable and expensive choices
- They have Primeknit
- Yeezys, of course
- They’re generally a little narrower
- Primeknit is not as good as Flyknit
So who has the better basketball shoes?
Lets make one thing clear.
At the end of the day, both companies have their loyal customers and their fans will back them up regardless.
What it comes down to is personal preference and the individual.
What you might like about Nike, someone else might dislike.
What someone likes about Adidas, you might hate.
I like Nike and I might be a little more biased but that doesn’t mean I didn’t keep this article unbiased because I definitely did, and I kept an open mind the entire time.
So who has the better basketball shoes?
They are both great, both have their pros and cons, and some perform better than others.
An Adidas shoe will be better than one of Nike’s, and vice versa.
Everyone’s going to have an opinion when it comes to Nike and Adidas because they are the largest shoe companies in the world and it will stay that way for a very long time.
Well hopefully that answers your question
I hope this answers your question and ends the debate whether who can piss further than who.
My final conclusion is this:
Nike isn’t perfect and neither is Adidas.
You’ll have to try both out for yourself and see what you like.
Me? I prefer Nike as I have multiple basketball shoes and absolutely love them.
I have also used Adidas and did not have that same love for them as I did with Nike.
But like I said, it all comes down to personal preference and that’s what I can’t emphasize enough.
Every individual prefers one or the either and you won’t know yours until you try for yourself.
If you’re stuck:
If you still don’t know which one to go for, I say go Nike.
The shoe in the link above is what I have personally used and LOVE. I have actually purchased two so far because of how comfortable and affordable they are.
Well that finishes up this article.
As always, I’m open for discussion, opinions and debates. Leave them in the comments below and I’ll get back to you asap 🙂
