Nike Tanjun

Furthermore, it has 4,400 reviews on Amazon, with an additional 4.6 stars.

For something that has such a lot of reviews it should not be able to hold a 4.8 star rating.

But it clearly has and I want to know why.

Today I will talk to you about the Nike Tanjun Sneaker, how long it lasts, the pros and cons, and everything else in between.

Product Description

Tanjun in Japanese means simplicity.

It has a minimalist design while including all the important features that make a comfortable and supportive shoe.

It offers a streamlined and modern design for an everyday appearance.

The breathable upper promotes air flow, and the foam midsole/outsole ensures lightweight cushioning.

That’s everything that Nike says about it on their official website.

But there’s a lot more we need to know, so lets continue…

Is the Nike Tanjun Good for Running?

The Nike Tanjun are running built for running and they perform incredibly well for it.

Some reviewers say they are very comfortable for the price.

And others say they are their go-to running shoes.

They’re a beast for road running, pavement running, on the track, and more.

The sides are flexible so your feet aren’t too constricted, and the mesh upper breathes so well that your feet don’t get hot or sweaty.

They only weigh a mere 12 ounces which makes it incredibly easy to run in.

For those that don’t know, the lighter the shoe, the faster you run.

For every 3.5 ounces added to the shoe, you run 1% slower. There’s been a whole study on it.

The Nike Tanjun’s are indeed great running shoes and have all the features and lightweight comfort to make them perform.

Are They Good for Standing All Day?

Are they also good for standing all day, for something like, a job?

Wouldn’t it make complete sense since it has thousands and thousands of good reviews?

All those people can’t be using them just for running, right?

In fact they are perfect for standing all day.

Some people use them for standing 10 – 14 hours a day, and they stay comfortable for the entire day and can go home with happy feet.

Some examples are a factory worker, food service, cleaning and retail.

They are also good for those in high-activity walking jobs.

These workers would be a mailman, dog walker, beer vendor, park enforcement officer, etc.

So yes, the Nike Tanjun’s are perfect for someone on their feet all day or do a lot of walking.

Furthermore

In addition to being good for running and working, they perform for the gym and weightlifting.

Are They Comfortable?

In fact this is one of the biggest reasons they’ve racked up thousands of good reviews.

They are some of the comfiest shoes in this price range and I will gladly stand by that statement, 100%.

Everyone just loves how comfortable they are.

“They are super comfortable” is the go-to line for those trying to express how plush and comfortable they feel on their feet.

I mean, out of 58,000 reviews on Google, NO ONE is complaining about the comfort abilities, which is a massive good sign right there.

Nike have done a great job at implementing the important features like the lightweight foam midsole and flexible upper, so that wearers can move freely without being restricted.

YES, the Nike Tanjun Shoes are very comfortable as everyone so bluntly puts it.

What’s the Quality Like/How Long Do They Last?

After looking at buyer feedback, the price, and all the features this shoe possesses, I can give a confident decision on the durability.

When first worn, they feel so lightweight that they won’t last long.

However, this has proven naysayers wrong by lasting at least 2 – 3 years.

The quality construction and specific materials used is what makes it last long.

For example:

Anyone can make a lightweight shoe.

But can you make a lightweight shoe that actually lasts a long time?

The Adidas Lite Racer Adapt is a good example. It is incredibly lightweight, to the point where it feels like nothing’s on your feet, but only lasts a few months.

However, the Tanjun stays lightweight and durable at the same time, thanks to the strong materials and quality construction.

If you buy these shoes, expect to get a solid 2 – 3 years out of ’em.

Unless you use them everyday for your job or something, then they will likely last a little less.

Are They True to Size?

Nike shoes run 1/2 a size small.

If you already shop Nike then you only need to get your normal size.

But if you usually wear other brands, then you’ll have to go 1/2 a size up.

Something I like is that they have wide size options for people with wide feet!

I know I know, lets have a round of applause for Nike as most shoe companies skimp on this little detail.

So if you happen to have wide feet, simply order a wide size and you’re set!

True to size? 1/2 a size too small
Normal shoppers: Go 1/2 a size up
Wide feet: Go 1/2 a size up w/ wide option

How About Arch Support?

Unfortunately there is neutral-to-low arch support and fallen arches, which means anyone with high arches will not find these shoes comfortable.

Even if high arches do fit them comfortably at first, I don’t think they’ll be able to wear for long periods of time.

Now for the Bad Reviews

There are some buyers complaining about the quality which would usually raise some red flags.

However, those customers bought their shoes back in 2018, as all the latest buyers love their purchase.

One of the other downsides is the lack of high arch support which I have already talked about.

More minor complaints were that they were already worn, receiving different colors, etc.

To be honest, these are minor things and have nothing to do with the performance.

Is the negative feedback something to worry about? Definitely not.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Extremely comfortable
  • Lightweight but durable
  • Versatile. Good for standing all day, walking, and running
  • Flexible outsole and upper
  • Thousands of good feedback
  • Good arch support for flat feet, low arch and neutral

Cons

  • A lack of high arch support

Do I Recommend?

To be honest:

There is a lot of great things about this shoe and few little things wrong.

Not many shoes have arch support for everyone, but at least it caters to most people.

Also there is a lot to love about this sneaker as you can see by looking at the pros section.

There’s some great traction, they are high value for money, and they are strong.

One thing I want to emphasize is the comfortability because it’s one of its strong suits.

Everyone describes them as the most comfortable shoes ever, and I have to agree.

There’s little support for high arches but there’s an alternative for that.

All in all, they are a beast when it comes to running and casual/general use.

And they’re bound to last for years if looked after properly.

So all in all, do I recommend the Nike Tanjun Running Shoes?

Hell fricken yes.

The Ultimate Shoe for the Price

If I had to describe these sneakers in one sentence, it would be:

Incredibly high value for money, easy on the wallet, simplistic but effective, and very comfortable.

There’s almost nothing wrong with them and the positive feedback from the people are definitely real.

I mean, how else do you rack up 62,000 reviews total, with the majority of them being 5 stars!

I like this shoe a lot and think they are some of the best in its price range.

Or should I say, ULTIMATE!
