I’m amazed at how aesthetically good looking this shoe looks. But as we all know, don’t judge a book by it’s cover.

Bottom line:

Man oh man, where do I even start. The Nike Zoom 2k performs in every department while staying supportive, lightweight and comfortable. The only negative is the wide design which may be a problem for narrow feet people. But other than that there is nothing wrong with this shoe and it stays tough even with a cheap price tag.

What is it?

The Nike Zoom 2k is an old-school shoe that was originally produced in the 90’s and 2000’s.

However, it has been updated to meet today’s standards of technology, trends and demand.

It is beautifully designed with the pods that protrude out the sides, many curves, and lacing hoops for increased aesthetics.

The upper is made of mesh, leather and nylon. All of this combined creates a breathable shoe that’s tough and durable.

“Zoom” and “2000” have been slapped on the lace closure and tongue.

The midsole cushioning is soft and plush, thanks to Nike’s special zoom technology, providing lightweight comfort and flexibility.

But looks aren’t everything, and manufacturers can claim anything they want.

The fact of the matter is, more research is needed to determine how it really performs.

So lets discuss.

What Do People Say?

First lets take a look at the customer reviews.

4.7/5 is actually really good. A 4/7 rating is mostly found on expensive shoes that are priced over $200, not $65, which is the price of the Nike Zoom 2k.

That’s a good sign so far.

The comfort is second to none

Many users love how comfortable they are.

They say it’s like wearing socks as the tongue and lining stretches with your feet.

They also say it’s “very, very comfortable”. It’s snug but not too tight.

Other say they can stand in them all day without getting sore feet.

It’s a no-brainer that Nike gets the comfortability right.

I mean, it hugs your foot as soon as you slip inside, before you tie them up. I don’t know many other shoes that can do this.

I have no issues with the comfort and think it’s certainly one of the comfiest shoe at this price point.

Not for long distance but okay for short distance

Some users say that it’s not really a long distance running shoe but certainly okay for short distance.

That I would have to agree on.

It’s a little too bulky to be running for long periods of time.

It’s more of a trainer that you can implement short runs into your workout if you require.

But running a whole ass marathon? Nahhh.

Strong, can take a beating

Now this is what I want to see!

Cheap shoes can have comfort and performance but not not many can pull off the strength test.

Well it turns out that these are really strong and durable.

The mixture of leather, nylon and mesh have been balanced out properly to stay lightweight and comfortable, but without sacrificing durability.

And that’s a shoe I can get behind.

Has many uses

These things are extremely versatile.

They are very stylish shoes. They can take you from a 6 to an 11.5 with the right outfit.

There are also a few different colorways so you can find one you like.

They can be used for things like your job, lifting weights, doing crossfit, going on a date, or simply running errands.

But just remember if you use them for running, keep it short distance as they are a little too bulky for increased distances.

The Highlights

The first thing we need to emphasize is the appearance.

They stand out anywhere you go with the protruding pods, exceptional design and colorways.

The appearance is what makes it a winning shoe in my opinion.

If it had a basic appearance, I know it wouldn’t have the same recognition that it has today.

The second highlight is the comfort.

They are really that comfortable and should be praised at least 2 – 3x in this article!

I had to give it such a high rating for the comfortability, especially at this price.

Similar shoes are lucky to get a rating of 4.4 but there was no mistake that it deserves a 4.8.

The Bad Stuff

It has a wide design by nature, slightly wider than normal Nike sneakers.

However, this can be countered by getting your normal Nike size, since Nike shoes runs 1/2 a size small anyway.

So anyone with narrow feet will be getting the perfect size.

And if you happen to have wide feet, go 1/2 a size up for the perfect fit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are they true to size?

Not really. They’re a little wider than other Nike’s.

Are they good for wide feet?

Definitely. The wide design allows wide feet to fit comfortably without worrying about suffocating the sides of their wheels.

Can you run in them?

Yes; short distance only. They are running shoes but should be kept to minimal distances.

How do you wash them?

The best way to wash them is with a brush, warm water and laundry detergent.

The good ol’ fashion way.

It’s less risky and holds its performance for longer since they’re not being exposed to hot water, which is known to warp shoes and wear out quicker.

Are The Nike Zoom 2k Good Shoes?

I wholeheartedly believe that Nike have done an amazing job with these kicks.

They are hella cheap but perform just as well as more expensive shoes, AND they have the aesthetics to go with it.

There are so many good things and only one negative.

Listen:

As of right now they are my favorite cheap running shoe.

They have caught my eye in more ways than one and they have held my interest the entire time.

There were no red flags and not once did I have a bad taste in my mouth about them.

They are truly a beast when it comes to balancing comfort, lightweight, performance, and support.

And I will gladly stand by that statement until I am proven otherwise.

So are they good shoes?

That’s a given.

There’s nothing that makes me think otherwise.

They have too many good things right and few things wrong.

Do I recommend?

The Nike Zoom 2k gets the big thumbs up from me and thousands of shoe enthusiasts around the world.

For now they are easily in my top 5 favorite shoes.

Verdict: Hands Down Best Cheap Shoe

These cost around $60 on Amazon, making them a true a beast in this price range.

When I first saw them I expected the price to be $150 or more.

Then I thought; “that’s so cheap, there must be so many flaws”.

But I was wrong.

The Nike Zoom 2k beat my expectations by a long shot and whoever buys them will reap the rewards just as everyone else has.
