Reebok Floatride Run Fast PRO: Fastest Racing Shoe Around?

Reebok are a cheap brand and their shoes usually have affordable prices. This shoe is over $100 so I wanted to see if it’s well worth it or waste of money.

Reebok Floatride Run Fast Pro Shoe

Welcome to my Reebok Floatride Run Fast PRO review.

And that’s what this article is all about.

Walk with me as I debunk the online reviews and discover what this shoe REALLY offers.

Reebok Floatride Run Fast PRO Review

Product Name: Reebok Floatride Run Fast PRO

Designed for: Racing

Weight: 3.5 ounces (similar to a deck of cards)

Price: $150+

Overall Rating: 4.6/5

This shoe has spectacular performance when it comes to race day, and believe me when I say I never use that word, that’s how much it has blown me out of the water. It features exceptional comfort while staying lightweight and provides a competitive advantage over other racers. Yes it has a steep price tag but it’s well worth it for serious runners trying to win a competition.

What is the Reebok Floatride Run Fast PRO?

The Reebok Floatride Run Fast PRO is an ultra lightweight racing shoe, built for speed.

It’s designed specifically for racing whether it be short distance or long distance, it gives the wearer a competitive advantage thanks to the lightweight, minimalist, and sleek design.

It features a single-layer mesh upper for maximum ventilation, perforated tongue for more air flow, lightweight cushioning for soft impacts and thin layer outsole for lightweight traction.

The moulded sockliner provides contoured cushioning that hugs the arch.

The Floatride Foam is what gives it the lightweight cushioning, and it’s Reeboks most responsive cushioning to date!

Quality VS Price

Racing shoes are minimalist shoes, so they should only be used on race day.

They are not everyday shoes and should never be used for daily running or even taken to the gym.

Now that we have that out of the way, lets consider the quality VS the price, as in, are they worth it considering they are made with thin traction, thin mesh, etc?

At the end of the day it comes down to how serious you are about racing.

Will it give you a competitive advantage?

Will they help you win the race?

Are you an avid racer and need something you can count on?

This shoe is for you.

It’s the lightest shoe I have seen without sacrificing comfort.

Quality is high as they are built to perform for long distance running and sprints.

Those who used it for its intended purpose got exactly what they wanted, and I have no doubts that you will as well.

Shoes like these are made with thin layers to cut down on weight, so a surefire way of breaking them down fast is using them for training.

Use other running shoes instead, then on race day you’ll have an extra bounce in your step and the ability to run faster.

Not for beginners

This shoe is not for beginners as they are geared towards those that are actively participating in running races and other competitive sports.

They have a steep price tag because they give you a competitive advantage to help you win competitions.

As mentioned already, they are strictly for race day and fat too pricey to be used for training.

A much better racing shoe for beginners is the Altra Escalante Racer.

It has a similar price range and will last a little longer.

However, it does not offer as much advantage as the Floatride Run Fast PRO.

Feels like nothings on your feet

A common praise is that it doesn’t even feel like anything’s on your feet.

That’s how lightweight they are.

When you take it out of the box and place it in your hand it feels like nothings there.

They weigh a tiny 3.5 ounces.

In comparison, a deck of cards weighs 3.30 ounces.

Imagine a deck of cards in your hand right now, that’s how light these shoes feel.

Are they true to size?

On Reeboks official website they are classed as “perfect fit” and not too wide or too narrow, they are in between.

You do not need to worry about them not fitting as they are true to size for most people.

Although they are a little narrow for wide feet.

If you have wide feet I highly recommend the alternative Altra Escalante Racer that I talked about above, as they have an increased toe box!

The Complaints

Too narrow

These shoes are too narrow for wide feet so if that sounds like you then I say stay away from them.

They are made with neutral feet in mind and not wide feet.

Low durability

Some people purchase these thinking they’re made for daily runner, should be used on the treadmill and other intense exercises.

But that’s NOT what they are designed for.

They are racing shoes which means race day only.

Customers buy them and use it for anything and everything, so of course it’s going to lose its quality fast.

The good news is that these were the only 2 complaints I could find, and they have nothing to do with the performance.

Where can I buy?

You can buy this shoe from the official Reebok store or

Both of them have their pros and cons.

My preferred place is Amazon for their fast shipping, free deliveries and 30-day return policy, and especially their cheap prices!

Pros and Cons

  • Lightest racer shoe I have ever reviewed
  • Performs on race day
  • Provides a competitive advantage
  • Lightweight but comfortable at the same time
  • Feels like you’re floating
  • Provides an extra bounce in your step with the responsive cushioning

  • Not made for wide feet

Do I Recommend the Reebok Floatride Run Fast PRO?

This is a high-end sports shoe and should be treated as such.

It is not to be taken lightly (no pun intended).

It is not your daily runner, not for the treadmill, not for cardio, not for cross training, or anything like that.

It’s a racing shoe and that’s it.

Use it for its intended purpose and you will have no issues.

So do I recommend it even with the complaints?

That’s an easy yes.

Those who are serious about winning races and do so on a frequent basis absolutely love this lightweight racer because it helps them win.

And I stand by it 100%.

Finishing Up

If you get this shoe it should be used on race day only.

If you use it for training it would probably lose some performance before race day comes.

Use other sneakers for training and when it’s time to wear them you will feel lighter.

You’ll feel an extra bounce in your step and more confidence that you will win.

Well that finishes up this review about the Reebok Floatride Run Fast PRO.
