Saucony Running Shoes – The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

Are Saucony good running shoes? Should you choose them for your outdoor running activities?

Saucony Logo

I have worn Saucony shoes for years, reviewed many of their products and have come to my own conclusion on this specific brand.

Today I will be talking about the good things, the bad and whether or not they build good running shoes.

The Good Things About Saucony Shoes

  • They have running shoes for everyone (low arch, high arch, neutral, pronation, supination, etc)
  • They’ve been going since 1898 so they have clearly stood the test of time
  • Their shoes are constructed with high quality materials and last a long time. Every running shoe I have reviewed lasts a long time
  • They are affordable
  • Easy on the eyes…not too ugly, not too good looking
  • Lots of different colorways
  • They are lightweight
  • They have normal and wide size options
  • Most are packed with features
  • They are comfortable

The Bad Things About Saucony Shoes

  • Their shoes aren’t versatile. For example: Their running shoes are only good for running and their walking shoes for walking
  • Shopping around can take a while as you have to find what supports your gait or arch support

My Take & What I Really Think of Saucony Running Shoes

If you want a shoe specialized for running, Saucony is one of the best ways to go.

I find they specialize in running shoes more than walking shoes as there are better options out there for walking.

But when it comes to running, they’ve done the testing, they know what works, they have been around long enough to cater to everyone, and their shoes do nothing but perform.

All their shoes are affordable, well constructed, lightweight, breath, and comfortable for almost all running activities.

Saucony are my go-to brand for running shoes and they will continue to be for quite some time.

So is Saucony a Good Running Shoe Brand?

Yes, definitely!

Their running shoes are flawless and negative reviews are virtually nonexistent.

Those with negative things about Saucony are only nitpicking because this is one of the better brands out there for running.

Most people who buy their shoes say they perform as expected, and sometimes beyond expectations.

And to know what I’m getting is proven to work, that gives me a peace of mind in the brand and their shoes.

Saucony are an amazing running shoe brand and highly recommended!

Which Saucony Shoe is Best For Running?

I’ve reviewed many Saucony running shoes in the past and want to talk about my favorite so far.

It is called Saucony Kinvara 10 and it’s the leading industry in innovation.

It only weighs 7.8 ounces, has 9 different colors, it is very affordable and lasts over a year.

They are best used for road running and on the treadmill.

Anywhere else and they won’t last as long or perform as well as it should.

In a Nutshell

Some shoes that are affordable simply don’t perform as they are should.

And if they do, they don’t last as long.

Saucony actually has the construction to last a long time and perform, and that is not easy to find in a cheap running shoe.

They are up their with brands like Nike and Adidas and I will stand by that statement 100%.

I have reviewed many Nike shoes also and some are them are complete trash.

Well that concludes this article on the Saucony brand and how their shoes really perform

So are their shoes worth it and stand the test of time?

That’s an easy yes.

Give me a comment below.

1. Are you thinking of purchasing a Saucony shoe?

2. Do you want it for running or walking?

  1. Hmmm … My first question to myself was why had I never heard of these shoes before?  It’s clearly a recognised brand name and has been going since 1898, so is my knowledge of running and walking shoes really that bad. I didn’t think so! I have bought plenty of quality running and walking shoes over the years but have never come across Saucony!

A quick google search and I realised that they just aren’t widely available in the UK. None of the major retailers stock them . You need to find an independant specialist shop. This fact, alongside your quality review, has intrigued me more. This could be a chance to get a pair of quality shoes to show-off to my friends. A bit vain I know!

To be honest, I’m really looking for a quality walking shoe at the moment. I managed to get myself two pairs of running shoes for this season which I am quite happy with. But I need a pair of decent walking shoes for my summer peak district rambles (when this lockdown is over). I am a bit bored of my standard karrimor purchases so would like some decent alternatives. Will you be doing a review of saucony walking shoes?, if so I’ll definitely come-back and take a look at them!

    • They are definitely going to turn heads to your friends and family since they look amazing and aren’t a well known brand.

Sure I can do a review of their walking shoes but it might take a while considering I’m really busy focusing on other articles and websites and whatnot.

But it is definitely on the cards in the near future 🙂

  2. I am looking for a pair of running shoes for my niece’s birthday. Trying to look for a pair that is good and not too expensive is not an easy job.

You have written a great review of Saucony running shoes. They are so many good things about their running shoes. I like the lightweight, many colors and good price tag. I think I will get this for my nieces birthday.

    Thank you.

  3. I have Saucony running shoes and they actually stood the test of time. I just realized from your post how old they have been in the market. Your post actually gave more in-depth clues about their shoes. Good job

  4. I have been wondering about Saucony shoes. Googled them and found your review. Thank you for the great information. Now I know what to look for in a great running shoe.

  5. I will check out Saucony. I must admit it was not a brand familiar to me. In my case I need a shoe that gives the best cushion possible as I have very sensitive knees that can’t take any pounding. If these are good for the road then this is probably a good shoe for me. Thanks for the clear recommendation. Best Andy

  6. Hi Brandon, great post. I am a bit of a trainer fan myself. I have owned Saucony’s before and I agree with your review. Keep up the good work

  7. Hey man, thanks for the post on Saucony. I’ve never actually heard of them but have been planning on getting back into jogging as need to get myself back in shape. I have been looking around for some shoes and will give these ones a harder look. Cheers man.

  8. Thanks for the article Brandon. I’ve known about Saucony, but never paid them much attention.

Do they do models for CrossFit?

  9. Hi, Brandon

I bought my first Saucony during a trip to USA (2012) and this has being my favorite running shoes brand since then. I owned some Guide 10, Guide ISO and Cohesion and they are all durable and confortable. Today, there is a single e-commerce retailer in Brazil (where I live) that sells this brand (Netshoes) and SOMETIMES it has a lower price when compared to Amazon (same model, of course). At my personal opinion, it is at the same level as Adidas and is far better than Nike and Asics

Congrats for this blog/site: I will keep as a reference as I do with
